Counselling

A space to understand yourself, feel heard and find your way forward.

You don't need to arrive at counselling knowing exactly what is wrong.

Sometimes you may feel anxious, confused, overwhelmed or low. You may be struggling with something that happened in the past, experiencing loss or change, facing a crossroads in your life with difficult choices to make, or finding that life feels harder than it used to.

Counselling gives you the time and space to slow things down, without judgement or pressure, and begin to make sense of what you are going through.

You don't have to have it all worked out before you come. We can start exactly where you are.

What happens In Counselling

Counselling isn't about telling you what to do.

It's about having someone beside you who will listen, really listen, and be curious about your experiences.

With your commitment to the counselling process, together we can gently explore what you are feeling, what has happened in your life, and how these experiences may have shaped the way you see yourself and the world around you.

Through this process, you may begin to discover your own inner resources and strengths, helping you find ways to navigate what is troubling you.

Sometimes, simply being able to speak openly in a way you may not have experienced before can lead to something important,  being truly heard.

A Person-Centred Approach

My work is rooted in a person-centred approach. I believe you are the expert on your own life. If something matters to you, then it matters.

Together, we can create a safe, accepting space where you can explore your experiences without judgement, begin to understand yourself more clearly, and reconnect with the inner resources and strengths you already have.

My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to walk alongside you with curiosity, respect and acceptance, as you find your own way forward and discover what might be possible for you.

Sometimes words aren't enough

SandStory® Therapy

SandStory® is a gentle, creative approach that can help express thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

Using miniature figures and symbols in a tray of sand, you can create images of your inner or outer world.

There is no artistic ability needed and no "right" way to do it.

You choose what you create, and together we explore what feels meaningful to you.

Your counselling journey is yours.

There is no set timetable for understanding yourself or what you are going through.

Some things may become clear quickly. Other things may take time. We'll take things at your pace.

I won't rush you or ask you to talk about anything before you are ready.

My aim is to provide a space where you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and your needs.

You may discover strengths you hadn't recognised, begin to understand yourself with greater compassion, or find that you have more choices than you once thought.

You may discover what else is possible.

Counselling isn't about becoming someone different. Sometimes it's about finding your way back to yourself.
